Thank you...

for all your kind thoughts and prayers! Kitty Iris, I'm not sure how to use all the functions. I hope you get this answer ... you asked what a PET scan was like... well they inject you with a radioactive glucose (that's the only part that stings..the needle-other than that it's painless). You have to drink some water and wait about an hour for the glucose to circulate in your body. Then you lie down in the scan and it does it's thing! The room where the scan is can be cold so they suggest you bring warm clothing (without any metal zippers). The scan itself could take between 1 hr or more depending what your doctor requested. You should be fasting for 6 hours prior to the scan. I had to call after 48hrs to advise if I had any side effects since the glucose is not yet approved in Canada. We get the glucose from Albany, NY. I had a bad headache, spots around my njection site and a metallic taste in my mouth afterwards, but I felt better the day after. Although the PET scan shows tumors and clusters of cells it will not show one cell alone. On my results they mentioned that especially with ovarian cancer, a negative result can also be a false negative since it won't pick up that one cell. But my CA125 has also been normal (6.5 the last one) so I'm happy - I'm free for the summer! Good Luck to you on your test and keep us up to date!
