Still Miserable 8 wks and 2 days post-op
Well here it is 8 weeks and 2 days post-op and I am still miserable. I developed a 13.5 cm abscess and a major staph
infection. I ended up back in the hospital for two days May 16-18. I told my Dr. 1 week post-op that I had a lump in my incision and she told me that was normal- a 13.5cm abscess is not normal! I'm not telling you all this to scare you but if you have a discharge from the incision a red lump don't mess with it get to the hospital. By the time I got there I had a very bad infection so bad that another day or so it would have been touch and go for me. So now I have a nurse that comes in everyday to repack the wound and to rebandage it. It hurts to move to walk, bend, or to roll over in bed. I had hoped by now that I'd be more mobile but I am not and I'm miserable and I cry alot. That is either caused by depression or lack of hormones, who knows? This is not the way I planned to spend my summer. To really ice the cake
I have developed a second infection and have to take anti-biotics again. Thursday I go to the wound center to get it debreeded. oh joy more pain.. Has any one else gone thru this or is going thru this ...............Help. My dh has been great!!! Still doing the laundry, cooking, and cleaning and taking care of me

You poor thing, you have had a rough time. I have not had this, but I have read that some have had it happen to them here.
I will that the meds work and all this will get better real fast.
It is not what you had imagined and yes , it is not supposed to happen , but sometimes it does.
I am glad your DH is such an angel helping you through all of this. That is a blessing for sure.
Bless you
Sending s your way.
