new here..surgery the 29th

Hi, I just found this site yesterday. I am scheduled to have surgery the 29th. I have fibroids and have been battling heavy bleeding and anemia for the past two years (or more, two years I've known about it, suspected it for longer). So I am sort of glad to go ahead and have the surgery and quit battling the flooding. I go in for my pre op with my doctor tomorrow. Is there anything specific I should remember to ask? Any hints about what to do before surgery?
Thanks,
Cindi

Welcome! The gals here are great and I have found a treasure of knowledge just surfing the site.

This is a great place to be you are surrounded by women who are going through or have been through what you are that genuinely care. There are archives with things to take to the hospital and questions to ask your doctor. It helped me sort things out and I feel less frightened than I did before.

I hope you find the same

Welcome SISTER!!!

I've been battling with fibroids for 10 years. What a journey I've already been on. I just want you to relax and be true to your feelings regarding the procedure. I'm scheduled to have a TAH on June 28, 2004. I'm so overwhelmed with fears, doubts and concerns. No one told me that it was normal to feel that way. So, when it hit me, I tried to bottle it up and that made it worst. That is why I'm so glad that I found this website. I can vent, laugh, cry, share and ask questions that I thought were silly all in the name of sisterhood and love.

Again, WELCOME!!!
