My doctor's appt today...

Well, I was scheduled for vulvar biopsies today. I got there and my doctor was very surprised that I'd FINALLY responded to the DesOwen steroid ointment. She wants to hold off on the biopsy and see how it looks next week. She indicated that she is now really feeling this is likely lichen sclerosis and not a cancerous or precancerous condition. If there is not sufficient improvement by next Friday, she'll do the biopsy then. Also, she said we may end up doing a biopsy if I flare as badly as I did the past few months. I am relieved but that little nagging voice inside my head is a bit concerned about what might really be happening on the cellular level. For now, I'm going to trust her expertise and see how things stand next Friday.

Thank you all again for your support and valuable information.

That's great news, Kate! I'm glad to hear it appears that you are responding to treatment. And it's great that she's going to check you again in a week's time. There's no harm done either way by waiting a week or so. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you continue to heal!

My doctor's appt today...

Thank you all for your warm wishes. The area is a bit more itchy and uncomfortable today. Part of me kind of wants to just get the biopsy done as it would be good to know for SURE what we're dealing with - lichen sclerosis vs. VAIN etc. I guess we'll play it by ear.

Hope all my hystersisters are doing well today.
