Heartburn

I am quite nervous because the past couple of days I have had the worst heartburn you can imagine. It is even worse now than before my surgery. My surgery was in 2002 and the dx was borderline ovarian cancer. I was being treated for acid reflux for about 4 months before my abdominal mass was discovered. After the surgery I never had heartburn again, until a couple of days ago. I have been taking antacids and nothing is working to relieve the horrible pain right at my breastbone. Any suggestions to help relieve this heartburn? Think I should call my gyn/onc?
Thank you.

I would say that if you are having severe heartburn I would either talk to your gyn/onc or your regular physician. Or both!

Sorry I cant help you any more than that but I will pray that it is nothing serious and is easily treatable.

God Bless

Heartburn

Is there any chance that you could be having a heart attack? I have read that heart attacks can feel like terrible heartburn. If this continues, you need to see a doctor, soon.

Hugs,
Janie

Heartburn

I too have noticed post surgery my digestive process has changed, and hence experience periodic bouts of heartburn. Did a little holistic research into this, and found some interesting info via women's health herbalist Susun Weed's and Dr.Christianne Northrup's web sites about this. In addition to many other bodily functions, hormones and lack thereof effect digestion and heartburn is often a frequent side effect. By all means inform your doctor of this, but in the interim before you start popping antacids, keep a log to see if certain foods trigger your heartburn.
For me chocolate, even a couple of M&M's will light my fire big time.
