A decision to make.

Hi! I am new here and I have a decision to make. Two weeks ago, I had an Endometrial ablation and dnc. I went back for my 2 week check-up Thursday and was told that something was found in my biopsy. While the biopsy was benign, I was diagnosed with hyperplasia. The dr. says he will need to keep and eye on it. He wants me to return in Sept. He did mention the possibility of a hysterectomy. I am 32 and have had a tubal already.

If I choose to go ahead with this, it can be done vaginally and my ovaries will be left entact.

Has anyone ever gone through anything like this? What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance.

A decision to make.

Hi RxTech,

to Hyster Sisters!!

While I'm sorry that you have been diagnosed with hyperplasia, I am glad that you found HS and posted to introduce yourself.

Since you haven't been scheduled for a hysterectomy yet, I moved your post here, to the Hysterectomy Options and Alternatives Forum.

Even though your biopsy was benign I'd still like to encourage you to see an oncologist/gynecologist for a second opinion before you make your decision about any further surgery. It's always a good idea to have more than one opinion when thinking about any kind of major surgery, and they are the experts in female surgeries.

I hope you'll continue to read and to post any questions that you may have - we'll do our best to help.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. When I go back in September, I will actually be seeing my regular doc and also one of his colleagues. I have already had the tubes tied, so I am wondering if a hysterectomy is the way to go. I don't want to have to continually have the dnc's and ablations.

What do you all think?
