YEA! - Just realized today that Auntie Flo didn't visit!

Well sisters, I will be three weeks post op on Wednesday and am feeling so great I hardly would know I had surgery if it weren't for the scar and the fact that I have lived in jammies and the recliner for almost three weeks now. I just realized today that Auntie Flo should have come to visit last week, funny, I didn't really miss her!! I can't wait to clean all the reminders of her from the bathroom cabinet. I will sure have more storage room in there!

Hope everyone else out there is doing well. I guess for all the pain and suffering we have gone through getting rid of Auntie Flo is one of the definite benefits! My friends are all jealous of that part, but none of them seemed jealous of the 26 staples I had.

YEA! - Just realized today that Auntie Flo didn't visit!

On my second day home from the hospital, I cleaned out my bathroom cabinet, downstairs cabinet, purse, etc., and gave my sister in law 6 boxes of "femine products". And that doesn't count the 2 boxes of pads I've kept since my doc told me to expect some bleeding/discharge, but I haven't had any. Guess she'll get those too!!

Was one of the high parts of this whole process

I haven't cleaned my cabinet out either! I guess I keep waiting til I will need those feminine products but I DON'T anymore!! I feel so free and can wear anything that I want and don't have to worry that I will start at any minute. So so liberating!! I bled so often and so much that I find myself still "checking" when I use the bathroom. LOL It'll take a while to get used to the whole idea of not having to worry about it anymore. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!

YEA! - Just realized today that Auntie Flo didn't visit!

I had that revelation in the car one morning. Sitting inthe passenger seat it just occurred to me... "Psst! Guess what? You should have been menstruating by now! Don't you feel great now? Auntie Flo won't be visiting anymore! Not ever!" I blinked. And I LAUGHED. My DSO looked at me like I was a loon...not that he'd be wrong or anything, but...! I just explained to him that the thought popped into my head. that my problems should all evaporate now. Such a smile on his face!

I've been trying to decide who to give my femme products to...sister or friends? Probably sis. She has 4 month old twins (Valentine's Day! And I just found out that my sis-in-law is due on Thanksgiving!), so money is tight.

NO FLO!!

This is my first post; I just found this site today, mainly because I haven't felt like sitting in this chair till now! I had TAH/BHO six days ago, and I'm feeling better/stronger every day. Can't wait to get these pinchy staples out, I'm just a little nervous about falling apart without them. I have a sort of fat belly, and wondered if that happens (incision coming open) very often. Also, Anybody else have problems with skin fungal infections around the incision? I started using an anti-fungal powder yesterday, and it feels so much better. And yes, NO MORE FLO has occurred to me, and I am so happy! Also, since removal of my enlarged uterus, I haven't leaked a drop of urine, I guess because the pressure's off. I still haven't gotten to the closet, but I'm getting rid of the whole supply of feminine products, except for the teeny-tiniest of pantiliners. I am loving the freedom, just a few days into it!

I'm almost 10 months post op and I'm STILL finding pads tucked away here and there

I'm also enjoying wearing my new white underwear! Sounds silly, I guess...but I know you all understand!

I am 14 weeks post and like my other sisters I still "look"!!!
when you are used to Aunt Flo popping in whenever she darned well felt like it, you really can't believe she has moved out forever!!
But I can not get over the feeling of freedom, relief and happiness that comes with her eviction

If you do not have family or friends to give your supplies to, think about donating them to a woman's shelter.

Best to all!!

What a GREAT idea, sista!! My best friend and I were synchronized, so I sent her a sympathy card last week. Aren't I evil??? (Can't believe there's no 'devil" smilie!!!)
