need some advice about surgery

HI, I am haveing lap surgery on July 7th (hopefully outpaitent) but its for a 5 cm dilated Fallopian tube (which my doctor seems to think it is caused by my hyst 12 years ago and said on the path report it looks benign.) anyways she only wants to take out the fallopian tube , I want her to take the tube and the ovary. I just turned 40 and I really dont want any more to happen and the way I look at it I dont care if she took both ovaries out. I will just go into earlier menopause (get it out of the way) I did ask her to take at least the one out and she didnt want to. Should I be persistant or leave it alone? I do trust this lady she has a excelent record alot of doctors and nurses go to see her. Im glad to know someone in the health profession to tell me some things on doctors.. Thanks again in advance

If I were you I would at least have her put on the consent form to take the ovary out if needed. Expically (sic) if it looked the least bit supisious.

Since you and the MD have different opinions on this surgery, I would advise getting a second opinion.
