TVH and vacuuming....

When did you all start vacuuming again? My doctor didn't say when I could and my house is driving me crazy. The kids are away and husband is at work. I have a rainbow and it's not hard to use. The only house work I've done so far is wash laundry and cook dinner and dust. I'm a little over 3 weeks post-op and have felt great.

TVH and vacuuming....

You are not supposed to hoover, as the pushing and pulling motion puts a strain on your muscles etc. I would say 6-8 weeks, whenever your doc gives you the nod, and even then, messy though it may be, dont rush back to hoover. Everything slowly and moderation, remember someone else can hoover, you could even pay someone! But your body only gets 1 chance to recover, and you'll have to live with any damage done!

TVH and vacuuming....

Hi,
I went in for a 3 week check up last week and my doc said I could start doing "Light" chores. I go back at 5 weeks for my last post op visit. From what I've seen on this site vacumming (sp) is one of the no no's. Get someone to do it for you or just look at your carpet as abstract art! Better to have a little mess for a few more weeks than a big mess with your body not healing!

VACUUMING??? Do we do that anymore?

I have my husband trained -- (of course frequency of vacuuming is a problem...)

I have a new outlook on life:

Dust is not dirt...

Spiders are our friends...

Good luck and s !!

TVH and vacuuming....

I had a TVH. NO vaccumming, pushing pulling or lifting until 6 weeks. It's hard but ignore it. I tried vaccuuming (got 5 kids and two cats!!) and ended up in severe pain in my ligament area. PLEASE do not do so until at least 6 wks. I vaccuumed at 6 weeks and have been okay since. I'm even now scrubbing my poor poor floors. :-/

But just look up and ignore it. If *I* can do it, so can any one else. I'm a HUGE neat freak.

TVH and vacuuming....

8 weeks for me. Dr. released me at 6 1/2 weeks to do most things but since we were about to leave for vacation in a couple of days I waited until we got back just in case it would hurt something. I didn't want to take a chance of being in pain during vacation.

Vacuming

I'm glad you aksed that question and glad that Fran gave you an answer.
I have 3 spoiled dogs and would love to vacume. It's been 16 days since my total abdominal hysterectomy and things are getting pretty hairy around here. Guess I'll just make my husband do it.
