worrywart in waiting
I posted earlier, I am waiting for a PET scan appt. to be appvd by my insurance or be donated to me to check me for uterine sarcoma. I've been reading about it and am having awful thoughts. I'm 35 yrs old, I will have a hysterectomy regardless due to my fibroid problems, also a complex cyst near my ovary. I feel like I have had some negative things come up which makes me worry more.
my gyno feels it is unlikely I have a sarcoma but the radiologist who is well respected and deals with fibroids on a full time basis seemed concerned! this cancer scares me and I'm having awful thoughts. I cannot wait to either get the test & results or just get in for surgery! I will be scheduling it next week.
I cannot believe that I may have cancer, I find myself doing something then all of a sudden I remember and get that pit.
I'm afraid of my surgery to begin with, this is an additional scare.
I just wish the weeks would go by and I'd know one way or the other and be on to recovery or treatment. I had a very positive attitude last week, but the time is wearing on me. I've read so much, I'm beyond information now, just feel kinda weird, restless.
I know I'm not alone and I'm so grateful to read your posts and replies. thank you thank you!!!!!! I don't mean to post too often, my last one was more medical, this is emotional .
I have a nice 4 day weekend coming up and hope to forget for a few days....

Never Waste a Good Panic...
Worrying and nervousness is normal at this time. The waiting is very hard and that's when the "what if's" pop up. Radiologists don't know it all either--only surgery will tell. Are you having a gyn/onc if there's a suspected cancer? If that PET shows anything suspicous, do have a gyn/onc do your surgery. Meanwhile, acknowledge the fears but don't panic. Let's hope you get the PET.

Waiting for results is very hard, and some of the things we read can be frightening. Hopefully you will have the PET soon and get good news or at least know what you are dealing with. The PET is a very easy test to take and no contrast to drink. Try no to read too much into the radioligist seeming concerned. All Dr;s have different styles and personalities. i have two very good Drs' One is alway positive, upbeat, and the other more pessimistic, a worrywart. I call them Dr Tigger and Dr Eyeore!

s Waiting is the hardest part. Try to enjoy your four day weekend. Try to take it one day at a time. Your GYN is correct abuout sarcoma's . They are rare and only 1% of fibroids are cancerous. I hope that gives you some piece of mind. Take Care . s

What you are going through is normal. Like Margaret said, surgery is the only way the doctors will know for sure. Try to enjoy your 4 day weekend.....Look at it like this......you have a 99% chance that the fibroids are not cancer.
Keep us posted!!!

Keep your chin up!
Hi!
I know that the waiting is hard!
I am still waiting on my oncol./path. reports from my 6/15 surgery.
(Uterus/cervix/appendix)
In a few months I have to have a CAT or PET of my right lung.
(granuloma)
I am 36.
Positive thinking does help!
Don't let yourself get in a rut...It is harder to get back out!
