update

Hello all. Just wanted to give you an update. I finally found a Dr. that was more than interested in seeing me. My appointment is 10jul04. A little while to wait, but at least I have some peace of mind that something will be done. After me being the squeeky wheel to whomever would listen to my story, wind of my not being very happy made way back to my original Dr. and his office actually called me...and said that he would be happy to see me, but not at his office, that I could go to the PPH clinic the first Tuesday every other month for a follow...needless to say, I explained my totally dissatisfaction with the way I was treated, and the lack of professionalism by this Dr. and that I would be going to a hospital 50 miles away because of my lack of trust with my healthcare here. I did feel better that I got to vent my concerns to his office.
The new Dr. that I spoke with told me due to the severs CIN III that is still present at the margins, the LEEP/Cone that I had was pretty much for nothing...3 weeks of bleeding and feeling like hell for nothing. I am going to try to look ahead at this point since I cannot change what has already been done.
I would just like to let all of you ladies know that if you have a feeling about your Dr. especially before and procedures, please go with your gut feeling and get another opinion. I wish that I followed my gut.
Thanks again to all of you for your replies and support. You are all in my prayers.

Want to get pregnant but have high grade precncer

Hi Kemp,
All my best to you as I understand this is an extremely tough situation. I too had a bad result (invasive stage 1 adenocarcinoma) from my LEEP, and I remember the horror and disbelief and confusion. One thing that I HIGHLY recommend is having your pathology slides from the LEEP sent to another Pathologist for second opinion. And be sure to get a copy of the pathology report so that you can show it to the Gyn Oncologist. Some options that preserve fertility are another cone/leep and trachelectomy (only cervix removed). Here are some websites that I found helpful:
M.D. Anderson-U of TX
National Cancer Institute
Sloan Kettering in NY
