Had lap of my right ovary on Tuesday, and had a very positive experience. So far so good. Had minimal swelling and the pain is less than I expected. Nothing like having the hysterectomy! I feel just bruised and feel like I've had done a million sit ups. The procedure lasted approximately 1 1/2 hours under general anesthesia and I don't have that brain fog you have when you are put out for a longer period of time. Just taking it easy, although it's my second day home and I am bored. My 4.5 cyst was solid in mass and went to pathology, and I don't know the results yet although my gyn said it appeared to be benign. Now when I am healed, I can get on with my life and get this weight off of me. So far, I haven't noticed any difference as far as my hot flashes, etc. being any worse than they were before. Must be because I was already experiencing them before and started Premarin a month ago. So those of you that are facing this surgery, for me it was a piece of cake. Jill

Hi Jill,

I'm glad to hear that your suregry went well and you are now home recovering. Be sure to rest and pamper yourself!

I will be praying that your final pathology reposrts come back with favorable results. I had my lap surgery 4 weeks ago to remove my right ovary with the solid mass and adhesions - my final pathology came back benign. I have to say that 4 weeks later I feel so much better - I have absolutely no pelvic pain anymore. I'm with you - time to get on with life again!

Just remember that you have had surgery - I was told to take it easy for 3-4 weeks.

Thank you, I will take it easy as I didn't when I had my TVH last year, I ended up with problems and the recovery was longer. It is hard to not do anything since I am independent and do everything for myself. We are at this very moment right in the middle of a kitchen remodel, I have no walls, nothing, and we are cooking from a BBQ and microwave. So the timing wasn't good for me to have this surgery. It will be difficult for me to do nothing. I am so happy this is finally over with. I spent the entire year after my hysterectomy with continuing problems with this stubborn ovary so now finally it is over! I am optimistic with the pathology results although I don't want to think about my familial history is against me. I'll post my update when I visit my gyn in 2 weeks. Thanks again. Jill.

Jill,
Welcome home! I'm glad that everything went well. I will pray for good results on the pathology tests. Do take care of yourself, surgery is surgery, I'm glad you're feeling good, but you should still pamper the
