four weeks and depressed

I have been reading about depression on this sight since I have
been a member. I felt bad for those who were experiencing
it and felt blessed I was not.
Well guess what, about four days ago it started.
I break into tears. I get so frustrated when I run to the
store and have to come home and sit before I go to
round two.
I have had several surgeries and recouped really fast from
them. Of course I was twenty years younger then.
But this just seems like you feel better, over do a tiny bit
and back you go.
I love this site so much, I think I would have gone nuts
if I didn't have it to refer to and just to think about others
who I can pray for.
Thanks for letting me vent, feeling better but teary!!

four weeks and depressed

Hi! We had our surgery on the same day! I often feel depressed too - maybe losing one ovary has something to do with it? Hang in there - I've heard it gets better.

four weeks and depressed

Hi Robin

A lot of us sisters experience depression. It has been quite a emotional event, which I was not prepared for. I ignored the symptoms until a couple weeks ago. I am now on zoloft and things are getting better for me each day. I cannot say for sure if it is actually the medicine helping, but as my health improves, so does my emotions and attitude. This whole experience was quite a shock to me as I only had ten days to prepare myself for everything that was about to happen. I was clueless and thought it could be no worst than my four c sections. Boy, was I wrong!!!

Keep your chin up, things will just seem much better in a short while.

Hang in there!

Dear Robinlr,
I also had surgery on your date, and I feel the same. Most of the time, I feel ok, but then there are times when I'm blue. I kept both ovaries, so I don't think it's hormonal, but then again, I could be wrong. The doorbell just rung and I received an audiobook I had ordered. Talk about excitement! I think it's easy to feel blue, when you're bored and can't do all of the things you enjoy.
It's got to get better.
Take care,
coping

four weeks and depressed

Howdy! Another 06/09 sister here. I too have been getting a little depressed. I think maybe because I have days when I feel great then the next I feel like crap. Yesterday I thought I felt OK then last night went to see the musical The King and I and by intermission I was thinking "Why the heck did I think I could sit in this little chair, straight up with no leg room, for 3 hours. By intermission I was in a bit of pain, but thankfully the show was great and kept my mind off it most of the time. Today I slept all day, finally woke up at 6:00 p.m. and will probably be up all night now. I sometimes have to sit back and realize that I have been through a lot, even though I am not very good at admitting that.

Hang in there sisters!

Dear Robin

Yes I have felt massive anxiety and deep depression but as I (hopefully) am getting better I'm going back to my more normal self - 8 weeks post op

Slightly depressed with massive anxiety : )

Our dear bodies r going through a lot. Plus we're used to racing around doing 'things' aren't we? And now we have to rest and wait to heal...... Gees that would make anyone depressed.

Daily keep busy, (while u r forced to rest) have a schedule, of movies to watch, books to read, healthy meals and morning and afternoon teas to look forward to, ppl to talk to and a little exercise.

I know it's extremely hard, but maybe pamper yourself and remember u're a resting princess for now. Eventually u can go back to being superwoman.

Plus speak to your dear dr and keep in touch here please.

Huuuugs I will pray for u.

Hi robinlr,
Keep your chin up, we are thinking of you. I have experience depression too, hard when you can't do everything for yourself. but you will be your old self soon, so keep that in mind and you always have your hyster sisters here to talk with!!!
Talk with your primary care DR. regarding medication.
I am on Lexapro and it has worked wonders for me. I was depressed before the surgery because I thought I would never have relief. But I do feel a bit better little by little..
Big (((((((((hug))))))))))) to you and remember we are here!!!!
