Granuloma in lung

I had a nodule in my lung that the radiologist said is "probable granuloma" but should do follow up x rays..... they found it with the pre-surgery x-ray. I had pleural effusion and my lung collapsed after surgery. I don't know if a granuloma would cause that or not, but I think any lung abnormality makes surgery a little bit more risky.

From what I have read on the net a granuloma is like a little scar left behind after infection..like pneumonia or tuberculosis. I've never had pneumonia or tuberculosis so I have no idea what caused it..
