More questions before Mondays appt.

Hello ladies. Well, yesterday was three weaks since my fisrt LEEP/CONE and I am STILL bleeding. It is not heavy or anything like that, but just enough to unnerve me a little bit. Is this normal?
My appointment with a new Dr. is on Monday, and I was told to expect to be there at least 2 hours..hmmmm...no pressure here. I have not had a follow up since my LEEP, and until Monday, have no Dr. to ask about the bleeding. Any info/advice will, as always, be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
KEMP

Kemp.

It sounds good that your appt will be about two hours because this new Dr must be very thorough and want to take a complete history. Ask him about the bleeding, what king of follow up he recommends and any other questions you can think of. Let us know how it goes.

Dr. #2...and still searching

Thank you for your reply ladies. I went to the new Dr. The 2 hour appointment was 90% waiting to be seen. As for liking my new Dr....hahaha!!! It is getting to the point of being almost comical. I did not even get undressed!
First she explained that she was on duty all night with emergencies, then she wrote everything in a little book that I had already explained to her, then she gave me the choice of having a cold cone, or waiting 4 months. I explained about the bleeding and being unconfortable since the forst LEEP and she said give it six weeks.....hmmmm
I told her that I just wanted to schedule the surgery, and she wouldn't listen to me. She told me to give it a few weeks and call her then with my decision.
(did I mention that I have no insurance, but am being treated under a state grant program for early detection?)
I then spoke with another Dr. that I had seen years ago with the birth of my son, and they reccomended the surgery as well, and told me that if a Dr. knows what he is doing that it is absolutely possible to preserve my fertility with a cold cone, BUT...since I do not have insurance, I am resigned to keep going to the womans health clinic and deal with sub-standard residents and feel like I do not have much control of the health care that I receive.
At this point in time, I do not want to play the waiting game any longer, I would like to have the surgery. If my fertility is compromised, so be it, I would rather be proactive and be a healthy mom to my son.
I cannot thank you ladies enough for all of your support. This site has been such a great resource! Thank you!
Regards,
KEMP

I am so sorry that you had such a disappointing visit with the Dr. on Monday. What a jerk she sounds like!!!

I'm not familiar at all with LEEP's, but a comment you made makes a lot of sense.

You want to be aggresive in your medical treatment to allow you to be a good mother to your son. I think that is a very wise decision!!!

Please keep us posted on your progress !!!!!
