7 Months out & still questions

Hi Everyone,

I'm 7 months post-op (see below for type) and I'm still experiencing what I call bladder spasms when I have to urinate and bowel cramping when going #2. Also, stool is harder and seems to stretch the opening more which makes things really sore. It also seems not so easy to go anymore and having to push to get it out. I went to dr and he found no swelling or anything abnormal after both vaginal and rectal check but thought maybe I had a bowel type yeast infection which he stated some other women get after surgery. So, he prescribe me 2 tablets of Diflucan, one now and one if 3 days which I took last dose on 7/15/04. He also prescribed me suppositories which are some hemorroidal cream type thing for the soreness. He said that should work. Well, I've been faithful to follow dr's orders and haven't had any luck in making this discomfort go away. Same symptoms are still present. I have a pap scheduled for 8/19/04 and to f/u with this but thought I'd check here and see if there might be any other ladies out there that may have experienced what I've described and could share their experiences with me. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Alot!

Dear ((((Amethystria)))) I'm so sorry you've been having such a hard time

I do not have any answers for the spasming bladder issues but the bowel problems do sound familiar In my case, they are caused by IBS and it has been much worse since the hyst. I'm not taking anything for it, but am watching what I eat, in effor to prevent the symptoms.

One thing that might help is to journal your symptoms. You might also want to include what you've been eating, in an effort to establish a pattern and a possible diagnosis.

Sending lots of s your way. Please keep us posted.
