Got surgery I dumb to be excited?

I finally got a surgery date (October 4) and I'm excited. Not about the surgery but to finally have a since of how to plan my life. They scheduled a pre-op phone consultation and then my pre-op lab work. Is the phone consultation thing normal? Seems kinda weird to me, you'd think the doctor would want to see me again. Any thoughts?

Here's another question...the week before my surgery I go to a business conference. Normally this is a time of friendship and adult beverage much is okay, should I not drink at all, etc.?

Thanks for reading...

Got surgery I dumb to be excited?

Hi, thanks for letting us know your date, it does help to have an end in sight, IMO.

I had both a phone consulation and a visit with my dr, but pre op can differ from dr to dr.

My dr allowed me to drink in moderation ( I never drink much anyway). I think that you should ask him/her what would be appropiate for you. Better safe than sorry

Best wishes.

Not at all. I got my date yesterday and I'm utterly relieved as well.
