finally had PET scan

I had posted earlier , multiple fibroids with suspicion of malignancy.
My doctors got me a PET scan which came back indeterminable meaning they couldn't say for sure one way or the other.
in a matter ofa day I was scheduled for a hysterectomy which I knew was coming but only with 2 days notice !!!! surgery date of 7-15-04
no time to get to nervous. an oncologist was on hand for my surgery and looks to all be benign. I'm still waiting for the pathology report, not sure how long that takes?
so I think I'm in the clear, I'm 35 and was able to keep both ovaries, only losing my uterus and one fallopian tube due to a cyst wrapped around it. It all happened so quick, I'm feeling good and more mobile than I anticipated.
I wish you all have good fortune and health headed your way.
I am so glad to have my surgery behind me, and these fibroids gone. I was approx 20wk preg. size.
I hope to recover and get on with my life.
best wishes !

finally had PET scan

Good luck, liliamber! I had TAH / BSO 14 years ago and never had pain or a problem during surgery, recovery, and in the years since.

Especially with an "all clear" regarding cancer -- Celebrate!

Hi Lilamber, Everything really moved so rapidly for you which can be quite unnerving in itself. The length of time to get ones finally path report can vary; I recall getting mine in 5 days. Glad to hear that immediately post-surgery things looked to be benign and that an oncologist was present during your operation. Be sure to be a good so you heal well. Please give us an update when you can.
s and blessings, peggiesue
