I got my date and I am scared.....

Gyno called me yesterday. My surgery date is September 29th for a total hgysterectomy. I will be in the hospital 3 days and out of work 6 to 8 weeks. My urologist is going to repair my bladder as well while I am under the knife.
Please pray for me, I am scared.

I got my date and I am scared.....

Diane - I understand how you might be scared, but please don't be. Think of how well you will be after. I wasn't scared till they wheeled me into the operating room. As soon as she started my IV, I was out until I woke up in recovery. I had a total hyst with a large non cancerous tumor (11lbs). I was just glad to get it over with. You will do fine.

I most certainly will be praying for you. I understand what you mean by being scared. I too am having my surgery in September. It is on the 17th. I find myself being thinking about that date almost all the time. I am excited to get it over with to feel better, not weak from blood loss, or ruining my clothes cause it just happens whenever it wants to... My advice to you is put your trust in God, HE will most certainly bring you through anything and also give your fears to HIM.... HE loves us so much..... Also, read this site daily, it gives such great advice, experiences and also support. I love it. Sometimes its hard to talk to people about this, do they really understand how we are feeling, here they do and no matter what the questions are, there is an answer by someone.

Let me know if you need any other prayer... We are here for you through this whole expereience. Also, you never know, what you could bring to someone else who is feeling the same way.

In my prayers,

I got my date and I am scared.....

Yes, Diane I will pray for you. It is reasonable to feel scared, but I found it encouraging that so many women have been through this before me. The waiting is the hardest part. I kept myself very busy during the 2 weeks before my surgery, trying to accomplish all my "summer tasks" in half the time (I'm a teacher). But in addition to the house work, I spent lots of time strenthening my relationship with God through prayer and Bible time. When the time finally came, I can honestly say I knew that I was in the Lord's care no matter how the outcome would be. There's some great bible verses in the Prayer Requests Forum. Best wishes!

Hi Diane,

It's normal to be scared while waiting for this surgery. If you weren't, then we'd wonder about you!

The best way to combat fear is to learn as much as you can so that you will be prepared. Knowledge is power.

Check out the verse in my signature. It helped me so much while I was waiting for my surgery. Also, look at the following link: Hope in Him - The Operation It's a beautiful site which can help calm your fears.

My prayers are with you.
