i'm so confused.... please help!

hello ladies,

i havn't had my surgery yet but its coming soon i think. i will know for sure on the 10th of next month. my doc just did a lap with a d&c on monday. things are a real mess and have to come out. i have been doing lots of searchs on the hysterectomy part of it but not any on the hormone replacement part cuz i thought i would be ableto keep one of my ovarys. i'm really scared of this, i know that younger women have taken hormones. even though i'm not that young , i'm not old either. i don't know where to start looking at hormones at. what do i look up? do i just what for my doc to tell me what to do? i am so finished having babies that i had my tubes tied almost 12 years ago, so thats not it. i just don't know what to do. help please. hugs to all. debbie

Hi Debbie

The best place to start is the Hormone Article List. Pay special attention to the ones about estrogen and not so much to the others for now.

Once you've had time to read and learn about the different estrogen choices you can come back and ask any questions you have.

Hi...I knew NOTHING about hormones when I had my hyst. last June. I just went on what my Gyno prescribed (Estrace 2 mg.) and have been doing great so far. They know what to put you on. And if it doesn't work well for you, they will change it. Don't worry! Have faith in your Dr.! Good Luck!

Robskay,
You'll also find some good information in our Resources section Hormone Resources and we have another section with info on Surgical Menopause

Read, read, read. I do wish I had thought about this aspect of surgery beforehand. It is wonderful that we have so much information at our fingertips.

Do feel free to ask any questions you may have. We will help if we can, the is always on in the
