One Year Hysterversary!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to check in today, the one year anniversary of my hysterectomy.

It has been an interesting year to say the least. For the last 2 months I have finally begun to really feel like a new woman. I've had a lot of people, including some from this forum, tell me that it takes close to a year to fully recover. They are right!

I did have an ultrasound to see if the "missing" ovary could be found, it wasn't. So I don't know any more than I did after my surgery. They removed one, but never could find to other despite it being on the Cat Scan and the original ultrasounds.

Aside from that, no menopause symptoms so no need for HRT.

Good luck to all new hystersisters.....follow the wonderful advice given on this board and in a year you too will feel like a new woman.

Congratulations on your hysterversary! I can't wait to be there. Doesn't it make you feel wonderful to have it all behind you? I know all the hystersisters can't wait to achieve this milestone.

Congratulations! I'm so glad to hear you're feeling so great.

I have my TVH next Wednesday, so your words encouraged me a bit.

I was surprised to hear you didn't have any menopausal symptoms. Do you know how common it is to not experience any symptoms or to have few disturbing symptoms?
