any motorcycle mamas out there?

Hi Kddy,

Tell your DH not to sell that wonderful Vulcan! Theyre alot of fun and regardless of the bike---if he has carpol tunnel he'll have a hard time regardless of the bike. Tell him to wait till he's healed from surgery to decide his options. Healing time is awhile being your hands and wrists have to go thru therapy to re-teach the muscles to work properly. Have him get them wrist guards to see if that helps with the hands falling asleep.

I'm also a carpol tunnel/Tennis elbow recoverer. I never had the surgery. Didnt want to chance the other ugliness of what my friends went thru. So i chose Physical therapy instead.

Good luck to your DH.

Hi Dogcrazee,

Who benefits from you ride from the Pentagon to NY? How are you making money? Are you being charged to participate, are people paying you per mile, or is there another way funds are being raised. I hope you don't mind answering. I think it's interesting and I've never heard of a motor bike tour as a fund raiser. What a great thing to do!

any motorcycle mamas out there?

Hi Punky! I dont mind you asking at all. We are actually paying to do the ride. I believe it's $100.00 per bike and if I'm not mistaken the proceeds go to the families of the fallen Police & Firefighters from 9/11. I believe this is the 4th annual ride. It will be our first. From what I hear, there are to be around 800-900 bikes going, so I'm anxious to see how that will be going down the interstate. We do have a Police escort all the way from the Pentagon to Ground Zero. If you're interested, I'll let you know Sunday night how it was.

I have to agree with you Sarey about it being ok to take her Honda to a Harley event. My husband & I dont ride Harley's, but we go to all bike events and always feel welcome. I ride my Beemer anywhere I can. Everyone has their own favorite brand of bike and that's what makes the sport of motorcycling so interesting, there's a certain "unity" with bikers no matter what kind you're on. My husband and I have a saying (especially when someone knocks what I'm riding) and that is..... It's not WHAT you ride, but THAT you ride". HUGS!!!!
