now I am bummed

I went to my appointment today.

What I thought would take a total of five hours or so round trip turned into 11 hours. They ended up setting up a bunch more tests. Which they did all of them today. I had biopsies, a bunch of different blood tests ( I think six tubes in all) A chest x-ray and a CT scan.

I have lymph nodes in my vaginal cuff area that are enlarged and look like tumors (4 in all). I did not even know that there were lymph nodes inside there. I have been having regular CBC testing for quite a few months now and I keep having weird counts.

Doc had thought lymphoma a couple months back, but then wasn't really sure. now that is what they are thinking. I was so devestaed. Of course they are still not sure. But I was hoping that I would go in there and he would say "Oh, I see what the problem is it is this simple little thing.....THERE FIXED!!" Next thing I know they are saying lymphoma and ordering a bunch of stuff.

I would like to add that I used to think that the stuff they used as a contrast that made you hot all over was horrible. Well, today I had to drink two big bottles of thick berry flavored crap AND have the hot stuff injected. The flavor of the drink was more tolerable than the consistency of it. I was gagging. I think I would settle for the hot injection ANYDAY. The cooking sensation disappears alot faster than the amount of time it takes to drink that gagging stuff.

Oh, (((Amy)))!

I am sorry that you had such a difficult day! Rats! I was hoping he could just fix you on the spot, too.

Well, at least they did all of your tests today. Hopefully, they will bring some clear information to the table so that you know what the issues are at hand. Then you can start to plan appropriately for your future health care needs.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts and 'ers. Please let us know what you find out. Now take it easy and get some rest. You have a lot to recover from today!

Dear Amy,
Sorry you had such bad time today I hope that the doctors will be able to see exactly what is going on and come up with a treatment plan that will work for you. You are in my prayers...

Oh Amy, what a horrible, no good, very bad, day! Remember that the doctors don't yet know what the problem is. It may still be something that is easily fixed. Try not to waste a good worry!

When do you go back for test results? Or will they call you?

Hang in there and keep us posted.

Hugs and comfort,
Janie

Just be thankful that they performed so many tests and you should have an answer real soon. Please keep us posted on your results....

HUGE s

I am sorry that you had to go thru that. That CT scan punch is for the dogs. As far as the other tests hopefully they will help in finding out what the problem is, and that it is easily treatable.

I will be ing for you.

God Bless

Dear ((Amy)), I am sorry you had such a bad day yesterday and had to endure so many tests. While they could not fix your problem then, with the test results in hand they finally should be able to see what is going on and get you back to good health. Please let us know how you are doing. I am keeping you in thought and prayer.

Amy,

So sorry that things were so difficult.....and of course we all know how awful the uncertainty is.

But hopefully the certainty will be a good report. Please let us know, as soon as you know!

Blessings.

Thank you all so much for your support, prayers, and thoughts. It means more to me than I could ever express.

I will know more probably by Tuesday. The only thing that is back so far is some of the bloodwork and some cultures. I was told that they do not find any type of infection and my white cell counts are still up. They are even higher than last time. Some of the other cells are up to. I can't remeber which but I think she said nuetrophils and monocytes. She named off a bunch and I don't remember what was what right now.

Anyway, I am sure that this will be something simple. I told my DH that maybe it is all something so simple that they are just forgetting to look for that particular thing. At least that is what it is getting me through the day right now.

I am so glad that I can come here and discuss this with all of you. I know that you all understand the fear and uncertainty, and know the strss involved in the waiting game.

So sorry your day was so difficult. I guess, if nothing else, you can be grateful that it's over.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this stressful time. Gosh, there's nothing worse than waiting, is there! Let us know how you're doing.
