back to school

i am a high school english teacher and return to school at the end of august. will be 7 weeks post op when i return for pre-school meetings and 8 weeks when students return. will be 4 weeks post op on tuesday. starting to get some energy back but am concerned that the first few weeks will be challenging. i have 3 preps this year, am dept. chair and have 4 new teachers coming into the dept. my principal has asked if i can come in here and there for a few hours in the next week or two. i drive 50 miles to work so i am going to see how i am feeling. had a minor setback when i developed a small seroma so i haven't started driving yet. went with my dd to the grocery store yesterday. was tired but good to get out. am trying to build energy up by walking some each day and hope to start driving this week. here's hoping that all you teachers out there have a great year.

back to school

HI, I'm not a teacher but my DD is. She's starting her second year as a high school chemistry and physics teacher soon. I know that teaching means a lot of time standing - please take it easy at first. Sit when you need to. Maybe have some very comfortable shoes to slip into as needed.

I'll be saying prayers for you that all will go well. Take care - teachers are very special people!
