ilioinguinal nerve damage

My hysterectomy was dec 2002. I have had leg pain (muscles grainy, and hard and intense muscle spasms in my back and neck since I returned to work at 6 weeks. I have gone to physical therapy, with no help. I had an MRI and went to a Nuero surgeon who said I did not need surgery. I went to a nuerologist who thinks it is nerve damage from the hysterectomy. The doctor who did my case says it is ilioinguinal neuropothy. He said there are documented cases of the puncture to see inside during a vaginal hysterectomy that can cause damage to the nerve. But, he did not know anything about how to fix it. He will do some research and networking to see if there is anything he can find out. Has anyone here been successfully treated for nerve damage?

Oh ((((Joy))))) I'm so sorry you're dealing with this

Unfortunately, I can't offer much insight as I haven't delt with nerve damage myself, but I did want to send some s your way and to invite you to visit our Resources Library, specifically the resources dealing with Nerve Damage. Here's a link to that database: Neurological Problems Resources

Sending lots of s your way. I know that several of our Road Dwellers are dealing with nerve damage issues and they'll most likely be around soon to share their experiences.

ilioinguinal nerve damage

I've been diagnosed with nerve damage, although my damage doesn't affect my legs, mainly my abdominal and pelvic areas. I've even had parts of the damaged nerves removed. But, as your doctor indicated, there really isn't a cure.

I've tried different things and I think that acupuncture has been the most successful so far. I am also on the duragesic patch and use darvocet for breakthru pain and phenagran for nausea. I don't think all my problems are related to the nerve damage, but the acupuncture has really helped with the prickly, searing type pain I was having.
