Pre-Op Preparation

I'm concerned about upcoming TVH (no date yet) because I'm overweight and not in the greatest physical shape (lazy). What should I be doing to get myself in the best possible condition. We're looking at late October or early November for surgery date.

Pre-Op Preparation

well my suggestion would be to check with your MD and see if you can start walking. thats pretty low risk for most people and it would be a good way to get in shape a little. Im sure you can get some good suggestions from your MD

let me know what happens!!!!

Pre-Op Preparation

Hi Bertie,

I think it is awsome that you have some time to prepare for your upcoming surgery.. and even more awsome that you know enough to prepare... Like Nurse2be said, walking is a low key way to helping your body get in better shape... I have fractures in my spine & osteopenia that prevent me from doing heavy excersizing, but walking is ALWAYS encouraged by my docs and physical therapist... The only thing they all suggested was to stay away from hills and gravel roads... The hills are much more strenous on your back and knees, and the gravel is hard on you overall... A track or school field would be best.... Weeks before surgery, I made sure I was better at taking my multi vitamin's! ( I also have a bleeding dissorder that made it necessary to get much more vitamin K too!) I hope this helps... Good luck! Diana
PS.. do keigel excersizes if you are going to have a vaginal hyst.. helps you to do them afterwards too!
