Weight Loss/Gain?
I am scheduled for my surgery (AH) on 9/7. I had lost 40 lbs 3 years ago through Weight Watchers and I have managed to keep it all off. My belly gets very bloated sometimes and I guess its from my fibroids (biggest is baseball size). I go to a Pilates class about 3 times per week. I know I won't be able to go to my class for awhile (does anyone know about how long?) and I am worried about sitting around gaining weight. I try to eat healthy most of the time, but I think it may be hard being home. I have read that alot of you had no appetite for a while after surgery. Did anyone have a significant weight gain awhile after surgery? How long (weeks/months?) does the swelly belly usually last? Thanks!

Weight Loss/Gain?
When I came home from the hospital, I weighed 8 pounds more, I guess from retaining fluids and inflammation. About 10 days later, I started urinating night and day and it all left. I have lost another five pounds and holding so far. I'm on HRT and was worried I would gain but that hasn't happened.

Weight loss/gain
When I got home from the hospital (and at my 2 week check-up) I had lost 8 pounds. I felt (other than the incision) great! For me, the swelly belly lasted about a month. As soon as the doctor cleared me for more activity, I walked, and walked, and walked. The dog loved all the extra exercise too!
I did gain my 8 pounds back, but that was because I felt sorry for myself, got bored and ended up at Dairy Queen a few times a week for a Blizzard!
I too, did Pilates twice a week and is a great way to get in shape for the surgery. My surgery was March 24, I took the summer off from Pilates but am starting a new class next week. I'm also doing Yoga, bike riding and hiking. But - my advice is don't rush it. Better to gain a little weight than to push your recovery too fast. My body was my best guide to know when I could push and when I couldn't. You'll know...
Good luck!

Weight Loss/Gain?
I lost 10 lbs after my TAH. I wonder how much of that loss was from what was taken out. I would love to know the weight of my uterus, ovaries and dermoids. Do they weigh them in surgery?
I didn't exercise before and I know I should start, but it is so boring to me.
