Help! Possible recurrence!

Hey everyone,
I am 3 months post chemo and just off six weeks of external pelvic rads as of last Tuesday, just started 1.75 mg Premarin and discovered a vaginal mass two days ago, it is on the outside of my vagina! It would be impossible for a regular squamous cell tumor to have grown that quickly during radiation, however, my original tumor was mixed: squamous, adeno and aggressive neuroendocrine. The neuroendocrine cells scare me, they're so small and resistant to traditional therapies. I'm told most folks with those cells in masses over a cubic centimeter see recurrences. But this fast? And on the outside of the vagina?I pray that it is one of my normal cystic zits that I got in my buttcrack around my periods (before the hyst) Does anyone have vaginal cancer and know any information about it?
(30 Y.O., RAH, six chemos, 6 weeks rad, stage 1a2 cervical cancer with neuroendocrine differentiation)

Help! Possible recurrence!

batgirl, I had surgery for vaginal cancer two years ago this month. My tumor was 8.5 centimeters and squamous cell only.
I had chemo, but no radiation, and so far have had no recurrence. Could the mass you have be related to the radiation.
what does your Dr say? Please keep us posted and as our friend Ellen says " Never waste a good panic!"

Never Waste a Good Panic

I think I'm going to copyright that! But it's true--don't panic about something. Let your doctor re-examine you and explain when this appeared, etc. The doctor can figure this out for you. May it be something odd and NOT cancer. Ellen

After speaking with the gyn/oncologist...

You were right, they think it's a regular skin lesion formed as a result of radiation, I won't breathe easy yet, however.
Take care,
