I personally have never used one but know people who have and they seem to work well, I was thinking about that also. Just haven't gotten out to get one yet or the right place to get one. Have you found one already? Best wishes for you.

Hi Debbie!
When I had my hysterectomy (a whole year ago now!) Someone had posted that they used a lawn chair in the shower. I tried that and it worked GREAT and I didn't have to buy an expensive bathtub seat. I really only needed it for the first few showers. You do get REALLy tired the first few times!
Hope I helped a little! Good luck1

Great idea with the lawn chair and you are right Deb it isn't for him but who knows he may decide he likes sitting down and showering also, ask him if he wants a waterproof magazine to read while he is there.

bathtub safety seats!

Hi there,

We had an old tub seat my grandmother used to use, so I was all prepared. Didn't end up needing it though and never used it. Now it's taking up space until I can drop it off at my mom's house again.

Personally, I'd wait on buying anything like a raised toilet seat or a tub chair until you get home. You can always send someone out to get things like this if you end up needing it, but even if I had needed something like this, it would've been for such a limited time I don't think it would have been worth the price. I know lots of ladies out there have bought them and used them, it just wouldn't have been helpful for me.

I remember seeing something about the lawn chair. I mentioned it to my DH when I came home from the Castle. I ended up showering without it. Just had my DH stand near by to help me get out the shower for a couple of days. ( I have a deep tub) Otherwise I was fine! My own bathroom and shower was soooo nice the first day back from the Castle!!!
