Ovarian Cysts

I have been diagnosed with fibroids for 2 years now, recently
I had an ultra sound which showed a "cyst" on my left ovary
my gyno wants to see me at next appointment, nurse descibed it as a "simple" cyst , I'm scared to death, I've been contemplating this Hysterectomy for so long...I hope this cyst does'nt mean something worse is happening.....so scared...any and all info would be appreciated Thanks this cyst was'nt there last year

Ovarian Cysts

Tanya. Cysts, especially simple ones are very common and most often not cancer, so try not to worry. Often simple cysts come and go with the mwnstrual cycle. The only way cancer can be detected is thru a biopsy, but other tests, such as the CA 125 can give indications. If after all this, cancer is suspected please make sure your gyn recommennds a gyn/ oncologist to treat you. Keep us posted.

Cysts

Most are indeed benign. Is it fluid filled? I would get those and they'd go away. Do follow with the doctor and if you feel any worse or it causes problems, make an appointment. Never waste a good panic--not time yet.
