Surgery is set

Well, finally my surgery for rectocele has been set for Oct 12 2004. The day after Canadian thanksgiving. Guess I won't be eating turkey or anything, as I will be on bowel prep. It has been a long wait, as my surgeon has been off on maternity leave. But not only do I have to contend with surgery, I work for the federal government, and there is a looming strike (by the beginning of Oct) or so we are told. Not only that, but my car was stolen last weekend end. There were so many damages that it was written off by the insurance company. So now I am carless...... and can't afford to buy a another one. So I am feeling very overwhelmed at the moment. Taking a few days off next week to try to get caught up and get the kids back to school.

Thanks for letting me vent. Take care

Hi Levanha,
Wow! I'm sorry you have so much on your plate right now. I hope all goes well for you on your surgery day. (((HUGS))) to you! I guess you could try to look on the bright side, you don't have to worry about the driving restrictions. Will you get enough from your insurance company to get another car? I sure hope so. Keep us posted.

((((Levanah))))) I know that getting your "date" must be a relief.. though it must be hard to deal with all these issues all at once Both and DH and I are Federal Civil Servants but, thankfully, we both work for Seperate Employers and are not part of the Collective Bargaining units fighting for an agreement ... but we do know lots of people who are fearing Strike Action. So know how concerned you must be: take and try not to worry too much about it. Furthermore, if strike action starts after your sick leave starts, you may be ok (check with your pay and benefits specialist).

Regarding the surgery: you may actually be allowed Thanksgiving Turkey. I had a rectocele repaired at the same time as my hyst, and the bowel prep was ordered only for the evening.

Sending lots of s your way. Please try not to worry too much!!
