Incisional hernia????

Hello hyster sisiters,
I need some advice. I have recently developed a bulge in my stomach, to the left of incision, up near my belly button. I had a TAH with a vertical incision in mid-June. Could this be a hernia? It hurts when I stretch, cough, sneeze. My clothes are tight and irritating. I just noticed it the other night. I have been doing a lot more lately, school starts in a few days. Has anyone had an experience like this? I'd love to hear from any who knows anything about this. Thanks!

Please call your doctor. Anytime you have new or continuing discomfort you doctor should be notified.

It is possible you could have developed a hernia but only your doctor can diagnosis the problem.

Let us know what the doctor has to say.

Incisional hernia????

Hernias at or near incision sites are not uncommon at all.

Please go and see your doctor as soon as you can - if it is a hernia, it can cause problems esp. if tissue or bowel get stuck in it.

Make the appt as soon as you can, and avoid heavy lifting in the mean time!

Thanks for your replies. I have an appointment with my doctor at 1:00 on TUesday. As soon as his nurse (who I adore) heard my symptoms, ahe told me to come in asap. I'll let you know what they say.
