Sore joints

I am at 6 weeks Post Op and have noticed since I stopped the painkillers at 10 days, that my hip, knee, ankle joints are sore...I wake up all throught the night with pains in my legs and have to keep changing sleep positions...Has anyone else experienced this? It is making sleep very difficult.

Sore joints

Hi Madison, (love your name!)

I have that mostly in my legs and I think it is because we aren't using our muscles and stuff like before surgery and since you aren't taking the pain medication anymore you are feeling it.

I stretch my legs even though it hurts my stomach alittle, and I use a heating pad, take hot baths to losen up, and here's the best part...

I MAKE DH GIVE ME MASSAGES!!!

Sore joints

I'm now 16 weeks post op but remember well having pains in my legs and hips when I was at your stage. I would sleep with 2 pillows - one between my knees and one near my hips to make me more comfortable.

I broke my ankle last year and after the hyst the dear ankle hurts again as well as my knees. The stretching is a good idea and so is moving around the house - just don't over do things.

You are not alone : )

joint pain

I had my surgery 4 mths ago And I had horific pain. My shoulders and my knees. Sometimes it was hard to go down the steps cuz the knees would not bend. I can honestly say that I am alot better now. I exercise regularly and take my calcium 1500 cuz I can't take the HRT. It will get better. Good Luck
