Six weeks, pain and strange feeling in vagina

For those in the know...At six weeks, is it normal to still feel discomfort? I don't know whether I'm overdoing it or what, but I'm still feeling mild to moderate pain. In addition, I feel like there's something in the vagina. Could I still be swollen from the proceedure? Gosh, I hope it's not a dropped bladder. Maybe I'm just a slow healer, or maybe it's because I'm 50, but I feel about the same (pain wise) today, as I felt at two weeks post op. Of course I am no longer on pain medication and doing much more than I was at that time, but still, when I read some of the posts, I feel I'm behind schedule for recovery. Any thoughts of encouragement would be appreciated.

Six weeks, pain and strange feeling in vagina

Cid,
It might be a good idea to call the Dr and pass this by him/her. I remember having mild pain at 6 weeks. It was a short time aftr that, I realized there was no pain. But I do think it best to call the Dr.

Six weeks, pain and strange feeling in vagina

Cid - I had tah/bso 3/22 (age 45) and still had discomfort at 6 weeks..didn't go back to work until 1/2 days week 7 and still had some discomfort..especially if I was up and about too much. Seems like when we start resuming any type of "normal" activity it does put pressure and does cause inflammation on weakened areas. I continued to REST - feet up as much as I could and continued to take ibuprofen for inflammation well into week 8. I don't think you're behind schedule in recovery.....it's just everyone heals differently. I can remember reading posts when I was 6 weeks and feeling the very same that you do...thought something was wrong with me..but nothing was Continue to take things SLOW and EASY...REST - feet up as much as you can...each week gets better and better. When is your post op appt??? If it's really bothering you...call gyn. that might help put your mind at ease.

phantom uterus pain

I would call and ask about this. It won't hurt, and you may have something going on. I worry a little bit about the suddeness of it all, and the feeling like there is something in your vagina.

I have what I laughingly call phantom uterus pain. I feel pain where there once was something, but now there is not. Funny, it feels a little like pain around an absence.

I figure it is just part of my healing.

Hope you feel better soon.
