tired!

A month ago I never knew I had anything wrong with me until I went to a gyn for a long overdue exam. On examine she found a mass on my ovary. I had a partial hysterectomy 20 years ago. An ultra sound showed a cantelope size cyst that looks benign(thank goodness and normal ca125 count). After the initial surprise of this thing growing I'm beginning to feel like my mind is taking control.
I am due for surgery on Sept 27 and can't wait. I am sooo tired and have no energy. Am I feeling sorry for myself,or am I finally allowing my body to react to what's happening to it? I'm hoping that 3 weeks from today will be the start of a new improved me. Anybody else feel this way?

Yes definately....it is hard for us to imagine anything foreign growing on the inside of us. I also have a large cyst on my right ovary and I swear it makes me sick.

Best of Blessings sent you way,

Big Hugs,

Mich

I can definitely relate to what you are going through. Ever since my fibroids diagnosis and surgery reccommendation, I have become really tired and acutely aware of very ache and pain in my body. I think that before the diagnosis, I used to blow off my pain and exhaustion and think that I needed to "suck it up and deal", but now that I know what the issue is and am aware that it can be resolved, I seem to have become more focused on it. I initially tried to distract myself, but often to no avail. So now when I'm tired or in pain, I purposely give myself permission to rest and feel the things I need to feel, both physically and emotionally. Maybe this is the body's way of preparing to deal with the upcoming surgery.

So, I think what you are going through is completely normal in reaction to the stress you are under. Take care of yourself, and I hope that things go well for you.

good excuse!

Thanks for the reply! I guess the one good thing about this is that I now know I don't have to try to suck it in anymore. At 51 I look silly with a pregnant belly, but I just don't care anymore!! My surgeon has assured me that at least 10 lbs will be gone! YES!!!!!!!

I'm with Shrinky. I'd just been having a lot of cramping and unexplainable pain. I've got 2 little kids so I've had to keep going. Bur when I found out about the cyst on my ovary I noticed that it was that side that hurt more. And it seems like I can feel my fibroids pushing against other organs as well as the nerves in my back. It has really made me feel validated and not like I'm just a big, tired whiner. I'm also giving myself more permission to rest...this gives the DH and the kids a little trial run for what they're in for!

I had an ultrasound on 8/16, was told that the ovary has to come out and that a hyst was recommended as well. Big shock! I'm used to being told that it must be just "stress." Trip to the castle is this Friday, so I've had 3 weeks to process all this and learn as much as I can. Glad it's almost over as I think I'd drive myself crazy! Luckily I stumbled on this website early on in my research.

Much love and luck to you all.

I think that we get so use to feeling yucky, that we just go along day after day thinking it's a normal way of feeling. I can't wait to feel the way I'm really suppose to feel. I don't know how large my firbroid is, but I know I go around a lot with my jeans unzipped...I can't stand any pressure on my tummy.

I remember Martha's Vinyard well from my high school trips there....I always came home burnt to a crisp. I live in El Paso now, but I was born in Lowell, Mass.

Many blessings sent your way for your upcoming surgery,

Big Hugs sent as well,

Mich

shrinky, smargie & Michypoo, bless you for your posts! My most recent sonogram in February showed that the two dominant fibroids I've been living with for about 5 years are just continuing to grow and are huge. I've been "ignoring" them as best I could for all these years and because I've been lucky enough to not have any heavy bleeding whatsoever, I guess that helped me with my denial. I go to the surgeon on 9/15 and find out then when my hyst surgery will be scheduled. I finally had to resign myself to the fact that no matter how badly I wanted to leave this world with "everything in tact," it just isn't going to happen that way and ever since doing so, I have felt absolutely awful - just as you each have described. It's just exhausting and the cramps just never seem to stop so I'm now looking forward to the surgery and getting back to feeling good again. Anyway, it was really a blessing to read your posts and be reassured once again that I'm not going crazy. Thank you all so much!

And here I thought it was only me. I knew that I have felt terrible for a long time, but have felt really bad since I have found out that there is a good reason for it. I guess now that I know that I am having something done about it, and that it isn't my imagination that I can just finally release, instead of hiding the pain and all the other stuff that goes along with it from everyone. I am exhausted all the time, my husband has been teasing me about being a cat in a former life, cuz all I want to do is sleep and eat.......hee hee....a week from today I will go for my surgery...surprisingly I am still ok with this. Hope that it continues. Good Luck to all of you
