bleeding after 4 weeks post op

Hello all. I posted yesterday on excessive bleeding at 4 week post op and wanted to update you so if anyone else has the problem, they don't feel so uneasy as I did not knowing. I began bleeding pretty severely to the point i was changing pads ( I had a VTH on 11/13/2000). I went to the doc's yesterday, and he said that it appears that a stitch may have come loose, but he couldn't tell for sure what the problem is. He put some kind of brown stuff to try to control the bleeding and put gauze in me and I go back today to see if the bleeding is continuing. If it is, then i have to go back into the hospital and get resutured. If you have any excessive bleeding, it is NOT NORMAL. Some light bleeding is normal as the stitches dissolve, however. Thanks for this site!!!

Frostie - Glad to hear you went to the dr..and thanks for update. I agree...bright red bleeding and/or excessive bleeding should ALWAYS be reported to dr. Lay around - feet up to keep pressure off your internal stitches...hope it stops without having to be re-stitched. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Thanks so much for your response. I just got back from my follow up appt. and the bleeding has stopped, thank god! The doc says that he put some kind of caterizing agent on it, and that apparently was all it needed to stop the bleeding. I am so thankful, and am going to relax the rest of the weekend! I really love this site!!! Thanks again!
