off to see a surgeon tomorrow

My gyn who did my TAH 4 months ago called me back today. He said even though my cat scan didn't show anything abnormal he thinks I have adhesions. For some reason adhesions don't usually show up on ct scans. He doesn't think I have developed IBS after surgery. Considering my soreness and abdominal gurgling and other noises he believes it is adhesions. I had them sealing my uterus and bladder together when he opened me up for the TAH. He referred me to a surgeon who does this kind of work. He said he is very good and I should go and talk to him at least. My appt. is tomorrow. My gyn also said he can almost guarantee I will be going through another surgery. I told him that I am to the point where I wouldn't mind another surgery, if it will make me pain free for once. I have been waiting for that day for 4 months now. (Actually for over 10 years!!)
My dr. said it could be microscopic, but could also end up needing to be opened up again. It would depend on how much and where the adhesions are I guess. It took 10 weeks for my incision to fill in and completely heal. I refuse to let any dr. open that incision again.
Have any of you sisters had adhesion surgery and how was it performed? Is it out patient? Here I go getting nervous again.

Would love to hear from any adhesion suffers

I am sorry you need to have more surgery.

The only way to positively diagnosis adhesions is by having lapraoscopic surgery.

I had my hysterectomy 2 1/2 years ago - I kept both ovaries at that time. I recently had more surgery in June because my right ovary had become attached to the vaginal cuff - I also had developed an ovarian mass. My doctor removed the right ovary and adhesions that had formed on my bladder, liver, colon, and bowels. He wrapped my left ovary in mesh to protect if - so far the lone left ovary is working fine. My surgery was done laparoscopically as a day surgery. However, my doctor told me before surgery that if there was any chance the ovarian mass could be cancer and/or the adhesions were too bad I may need a full abdominal incision - fortunately the laparoscopic surgery went well and the ovarian mass was benign. The recovery time for my laparoscopic surgery was 3-4 weeks.

Here is the link to some Adhesion Resources

I will be praying that your surgery goes well - keep us posted on how you are doing.
