just wondering

I haven't posted for quite some time. But i'm having a few questions. I have been on bi-est for several months now and i feel lots better than i have for long time. I have been gaining weight. I walk about 3 miles a day and i haven't increased my eating at all. I drink a lot of water. I have gained around the stomach and i can't seem to lose it. I was on 80/20 but the dr. changed it to 90/10 and it seems like since the change i have had more trouble with the weight. I also just started with testerone cream 0.01 %, but the weight was before i started the testerone. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks for the help.

Hi Suzie I'm sorry you're struggling with weight gain... you're not alone in that

Just a guess... when you switched formulations for your Bi-Est, you changed to a slightly weaker formulation (less estradiol). If your estrogen level is a bit low, it can cause your body to start to put on weight around the middle, because abdominal fat cells can make estrone and they'll want to be making up the difference between what you're getting in HRT and what your body needs.

What was the reason for the switch? Were you doing well on the 80/20?

Thanks i switched meds cause i was having a lot of headaches and she thought that it might help. I'm not so sure that it is i still have the headaches. I have been having hot flashes again. That is something i need to talk to my dr. about too. I go the end of the month again. I'm seeing the dr. every two months until we get this all figured out. Thanks for the help.

(((Suzie))) the hot flashes and headaches sound like signs that you aren't getting enough estrogen. They can also just be from hormone level changes, but if they persist past a week or two I'd suggest you talk with your DR about increasing your estrogen dosage.
