Lumps in your veins after Chemo?

Hey Ladies,
Have any of you gotten lumps in your veins, in your hands after Chemo?
I have two little lumps in my hands, and they are kind of hard. They look like a bit of vein sticking up? Blood Clot? Paranoia?
Probably paranoina, but wanted to ask someone...
This last Chemo was torture on my hand, and still hurts. I can't help but think she did a poor job of it this time. Probably because it's still sore, that lump is troublesome to me.

Lumps in your veins after Chemo?

hi Sus,

I have one of those hard little knots in my vein on my hand..have had it for years..I never had chemo there, and I"ve always just related it to the IVs I had to have over the course of the years.
No one seems to be concerned about it at all.
I bet they'll find a new spot your next treatment!

Lumps in your veins after Chemo?

When I had my Gallbladder surgery many moons ago, I was on a potassium drip and that cause my vein to be hard for about an inch or two. Some times the harsh drugs that they use will make a vein tough.

But if it really concerns you or hurts very much you probably should see a doctor about it.

God Bless

Nope, no lumps for me, just scar tissue. I would definitely ask the dr. about it. It's probably nothing but never hurts to ask. No questions are silly when you're dealing with cancer.

I hope the remaining treatments go remarkably well. No more sore hands!

Lumps in your veins after Chemo?

I had so many IV's and blood draws between the surgery and the chemo...I got several of those bumps, they went away after awhile, can't remember how long though. I too have alot of scar tissue from some of the IV's I had. I don't think the bumps are anything to worry about, but mine didn't hurt too badly for long. So, be on the safe side and ask.

Thanks Ladies,
I feel much better knowing that others have had this...
I will ask my doctor about it, but at the same time, I'll probably sleep better, not thinking a blood clot is going to break away from my hand and kill me in the night. (The things our imaginations can to to us!)

Lumps in your veins after Chemo?

I have some weird lumps in my veins, but it's definitely scar tissue, since I refused a port and had 1.5 years of chemo. Do ask your doctor, but I'm hoping it's nothing. :-)
