Surgery might be cancelled mon 9/20

Everything was going ok, untill today. I went for my pre-admit
and blood work up. I received a frantic call from a DR who
was filling in for my GP, she said my potassium was too low
and I had to bring it up my Sun or they would cancel.
she gave me pills and told to stop the maxzide.
What really makes me mad is why my GYN didn`t call me.

Oh -- I feel awful for you!

Take the pills, drink water, and try to rest. Good luck to you!

When my moms pottasium was down, they told her to eat bananas. Apparently they are a really awesome source for it. Take your pills, and become a lil monkey!!

Hey, I feel stupid. LOL My GP told me also yesterday before she gave me meds for pain to eat lots of bananas and drink a ton of orange juice, but silly me didn't hear her say anything about my potassium being low. She was more concerned with my blood pressure. Well, I did go get the bananas and making soy/banana smoothies with a little vanilla extract. Yummy.

So, I guess my potassium was a tad low too.

But please drink a lot of orange juice and fix yourself some banana smoothies-----and you'll get that potassium up in no time.

Take care.

Goodie! Glad your labs are back where they belong!
I know it was a bummer, but good that they found that for you so you'll be safe for surgery. That's why they do the pre-op. Low potassium can cause low blood pressure and rapid/irregular heart beats that could pose a danger during surgery.
Glad you are feeling better.
Hope you have an easy recovery. We'll be thinking of you.
