yeast infection under my swelly belly and other struggles

Hello Ladies,

I am looking for feedback from any of you out there who have had a yeast infection on the belly. I have a good sized "fold" from the my ugly belly fat and a fold has formed ever since this surgery. I have never had anything like this before, and I have developed a yeast infection underneath the fold. It is rather gross and my doctor told me to use cold compresses and apply monistat. I just got some monistat and plan to start doing this today. Anyone else have this issue and found success with the monistat?

My doctor also is trying to help me find out what is causing me pain at 8 months post-op. She examined my belly, and I thought I was going to jump through the roof when she pressed on my abdomen. I have had 2 bouts with what was called a strained muscle in my right abdominal area. It isn't healing. I also have pains that feel like the endo. did pre-op. Not as much, but they are still there. I don't care as much about the endo pains, they are bearable. I do care about this trouble I am having with my right ab. muscle. Anyone else out there have a similar problem? My doctor is trying to hook me up with a surgeon to get some more help, so I am in the waiting phase right now. Any feedback or encouragement in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

i went through this

I also went through this. What has helped after I got it all healed up and if your incision is healed is put a little deodarnt there and it helps keep it a little drier. I do not do this everyday but it seems to help.

HI, I used to work in a nursing home and we would have a lot of heavier people get these yeast infections under there bellies or under there breast, Gold Bond medicated powder, is good, just a little bit, you don't want it to cake up, and we would also put dry soft cloths inbetween the folds so they wouldn't be rubbing up against each other. I am not sure I would agree with the cold compress, seems like the moisture would make it worse.
Hope this helps good luck.
God Bless, Gracie

Thank you Gracie and Denise for your replies. I will try some of your suggestions.

Gracie, I like the idea of soft dry cloths. Are these cloths something I can purchase? It sounds like something I can do while I am sleeping, but during the day is a bit hard when I am up and around. I am athletic, (despite my big belly!!!), and my challenge is keeping that area sweat free when I am working out. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for your encouragement and care.

God bless,

I hope you get relief soon. I am also experiencing abdominal pain 4 1/2 months out. My gyn referred me to a post abdominal pain surgeon. He deals with these issues specifically. He says I have adhessions and will help me to feel better soon. I will have the surgery Wed. He also pinpointed a bad gallbladder.
Maybe your gyn. can refer you to a specialist dealing with pain. It has been a blessing to me to know relief is on its way!I can't wait.
As for the yeast infection I don't know what to say. I would think the monistat would help. A friend of mines baby had a yeast infection in the diaper area and was told to use monistat and it cleared up. I have a big overhang too, but haven't had any problems. I have lost 50 pounds in a year and just can't seem to get the extra skin to shrink.

take care

Hi Janet, you could use any kind of soft cloth, like a soft bath towel, or a pillow case, an old t-shirt, anything that is soft and won't cause more iritation under your belly, we would use folded up pillow cases in the nursing home.
Good luck and God Bless
