burning, pulling sensations?

I've noticed that when I move just right I get this severe burning sensation near my LAVH incision sites. It pulls too. HUrts pretty bad. I wondered if it's adhesions, but gyn told me she put in adhesion barrier so it can't be that. It's been happening since the last surgery (1/04) and the pain management guy doesn't seem to care.

It doesn't feel like the endometriosis pain, which I am very familiar with.

Any ideas?

Burning, pulling

Hi, Hunny.

It's difficult to say whether the sensations you're feeling are adhesions or not. I will say that the symptoms sound indicative of adhesions but only a laparoscopic procedure could tell for sure. Unfortunately, the adhesion barrier is 100% effective in preventing adhesions. You might want to try for a second opinion if you're not satisfied with your pain management doctor. Hope this helps!!

Oops!

What I meant to say is that unfortunately the adhesion barrier is NOT 100% effective in preventing adhesions - - sorry for the misprint.

((((Hunny))))

I agree with (((Anita))), the adhesion barriers are not 100% effective. I hope your gyn's attitude is NOT "can't be that" but rather, "lets hope the barrier did its job". Otherwise, my advice is get a 2nd opinion.

Does your PM seem unconcerned (not focused on this issue because he/she is focused on the main cause of pain and this is not the prioity) or uncaring (doesn't care that you are suffering/doesn't seem to validate you)? What reason did he/she give for his/her lack of addressing the pain? When do you see the PM again and can you bring it back to his/her attention? Some doctors just don't get it the first time and have to be retold, unfortunately. And others are a "one thing at a time" type of folks.

I do hope you get some answers soon and are feeling better!

Lots of s for you, hunny!
