Anyone else had this problem?

Hello all. I am scheduled for surgery on Friday October 1 but I haven't even had my pre op appointment yet. Come to find out my insurance is questioning my and my doctors choice of the hyst. I have a history of endometriosis and endometriomas and horrible periods and pain daily but they want more documentation. I guess tomorrow I will have to go to my normal PCM at the military clinic and get my entire record to fax to them. After debating this decision for years and finally finding a time when my DH will be in port long enough to help, AND finding a doctor that I truly trust, now the insurance says why. I am just so frustrated right now. Thanks to all who are reading this.

Anyone else had this problem?

I feel so bad for you.....very frustrating! I had insurance problems before my surgery. I was actually hemmoraging from my uterus and needed surgery FAST! But I had to wait 4 months until they would finally approve it. I was so anemic and lost 30 pounds. I could barely get out of bed.....I was only 25 and they thought age was a factor in my case, but if you need surgery, you need surgery. Hang in there.....I will be praying for you. It is really crumby when the insurance companies think they know more than your doctor does!

snipeswife - Just a note to let you know that I'm so sorry for the frustration you are having to deal with. I'm sure everything will work out but I know it's hard until it's resolved. Hang in there and God bless you and your family during this trying time.

Anyone else had this problem?

Hi Sherry,

I am so sorry you have to go thru this. It is very frustrating. Please try to stay calm as all of this stress could bring additional complications like high blood pressure that you do not need right now. Insurance companies have a long way to go in understanding Women's Health issues. Do not give up. My hope is that one day all women will receive the compassion and respect they deserve when going thru such a trying time as major surgery.

My thoughts are with you.

Luv & Blessings,
Marysa
