What is the most memorable compliment you have ever received?
After my Mom passed away, her close friends told me that I was just like her. That really did mean a lot to me, as I always wanted to grow up to be like her..

Those are really special. I have always found it amazing the way one nice remark or compliment can stick with us forever.

What is the most memorable compliment you have ever received?
An older lady and mother of 3 boys told me one time that if she had had a daughter she would have wanted her to be me.

What is the most memorable compliment you have ever received?
My MIL is a very traditional woman, so it came as quite a surprise to me when she told my husband that she was impressed and proud that I had started my own business, and that our decision to not have children was a good one for us. She has also thanked me several times for looking after her son so well.
On the vanity side, I was once complimented, through a very thick African culture and language barrier, on my (direct quote) "lovely large behind..."

What is the most memorable compliment you have ever received?
I've had a couple over the years that really stand out. Years ago, I managed an engineering office, and when I was preparing to leave there, asked on of the engineers to write me a letter of recommendation. She said I "expertly managed a staff of 20+ diverse engineering and clerical staff with kindness."
Recently, someone I work with told me I was a very kind person. It really touched my heart and remiinded me of that earlier comment. Honestly, though, I don't really think of myself as particularly kind. I have to work hard to see (and voice) positive things sometimes, especially when I'm feeling under the weather...which seems like most of the time these days....but I have only 8 more days before Castle day and becoming human again.
AND....my wonder prince of a DH tells me I'm beautiful....even when he doesn't want something, and even when I think I look like heck first thing in the morning or after a really long day.
Grace & peace,
Terry

What is the most memorable compliment you have ever received?
on the funny side.....
coming out of the subway in NYC- right at the WTC/Chambers Street exit- a construction worker sang "there she is Miss America....."
I was about 17 and he probably sang it 10 times that day- but it made my day bright and 16 years later- I still remember it....
on a serious note- I have to think on it--
hmmmmm.......
probably either parents of my special ed students telling me I am the answer to thier prayers or my principal (of 10 years- I love her!) telling a new teacher how good he was and that HE reminded her of ME......always thinking not just of today or the year- but planning for 6 years down the road when they transition into a new life/class setting.....
guess you can tell where my heart lies- my room!
(and w/ my dog, Pumpernickel who turns 12 in December!!!!)
PEACE-
Dena.
