Endo after Hyst? Is it possible?

I too seem to be in the same dingy as you'll. I wouldn't call it a boat for sure....Had my tubes tied at 19 during my 2nd C-Sec.,Laprascopic at 30 removed adhesions then another at 34, and TAH 6/7/04, and thought I was going to be a new women after, I am alright, just not the one I was expecting. I was put on Estrogen the day of my surgery, in which he said he removed adhesions off my bladder. and Said I had endro. too that he removed. Now for years, I have had problems " getting hung up" All of a sudden its like something grabs and I can't move till it lets go.... Do you all know what I'm talking about? It was always on my right side this happened and I always hurt in my left section. well at 7 wks. I started experiencing this again. would go to stand or sit or sit up and my left side would get hung up. Have had Lower back pain too, like something slips everyonce in a while, not sure if it's connected or something else, have had days, I had symptoms of bladder infection, then it would go, and come back here and there, Seen a urologist, he doesn't seem to think anythings wrong with the bladder, that leaves the colon, or adhesions. You know, I never get sick, flu and viruses, you know, Except for female troubles, I'm healthier then most people around me, and haven't had to go to doc.'s except for the "P" problems, and now I feel like all is going wrong since this surgery. I thought it was going to be "all good" and it's not. And I'm about imbaressed to say to not to good when asked how the surgery went. I'm finally getting my mind back, and libido, but have to take Estratest and Estradiol and prog. cream, everyday to maintain, but I don't know whats going on in there, what if Me taking the HRT, is causing this. I don't know which way to turn now, really had no intention on going back to the same, doc. wasn't pleased with some issues. This really is a bummer.... I sometimes feel I'm being punished for wanting rid of my uterus. You'll ever feel like that? KIM

I know what you mean!

Yes, I have felt all of those things. As far as the pain in your side. Yes, yes, yes! It used to be once in a blue moon. I feel like a dagger had been shoved in just below my ribs. I can't move can't breath or talk very loud. I just sit there for a minute and pray it goes away quickly. Now, however, I am feeling it more frequently, like everyday.

I am only on Climara. I tried cenestin, but didn't like it (don't remember why) then I was on Estradiol for about a year and now Climara. I've been happy with it so far.

When I started having all of my pain 7 or 8 weeks ago I was shocked. It was the burning feeling I had before my hyst. I haven't had an ovary for 2 years and minus one ovary for 9 years. I even thought about ovarian remenant synd. but I have had a CT scan and there is nothing there. Ultrasound and nothing.

I am like you I rarely get sick. Except for all my female problems. I was always under the impression you should be put on hormones almost as soon as everything is removed. Especially and such a young age. I was 25.

I really like my dr. so far. I have been seeing him for 5 yrs. We will see how much I like him tomorrow. I have Gall bladder bain and it isn't functioning properly, but they won't take it out yet because I don't have stones. So I get told go to your gyn and a GI and see what they say. I hate being told you need more tests or lets see what happens. I want to be fixed now. I am missing too much in my daughters lives right now to feel this way.

I just got married a little under 4 months ago and I feel horrible about how I feel. He has been wonderful, but I haven't been much fun. It's gotten to the point that when I start to feel the pain I take a couple of darvocet and go on. I worry that I am going to become addicted to it. But it is the only thing that comes close to helping. Plus I can't remember if I had endo or not. I don't think I did. But my only ovary was bleeding almost constantly and that causing pain, so it had to go.

The only way I can have a BM is if I use and Enema and I worry that is going to make things worse.

I feel for you. I really do. Hopefully we will find out something soon!

Endo after Hyst? Is it possible?

Hi Jforrest, Its crazy isn't it. I also feel like my gall bladder isn't functioning quiet right, started befor the surgery and is slowly getting worse. When I told my reg. doc. he kept says acid- refux and insisted I take some info. brochers with me. But I have never had heartburn, and I thought that you have this with reflux, I'm just nauseated all the time and have trouble burping sometimes. And I have had pain in my left shouder blade that started at the same time as the gall bladder issues, I read this can be caused by it. I also read gall bladder problems are a precurser to liver problems, so thats another reason I'm worried about taking the Estratest. It really is a pain, one thing causeing another. My father had a liver disease, I don't want to find out the hard way I'm destroying mine and didn't know it. Have you had a cololostomy? I'm wondering what my next step should be..KIM

Endo after Hyst? Is it possible?

hi Julie,
I just found your post as I was searching for information on gall bladder issues. I too like you had severe endo and massive adhesions, I had a total hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries Im on estrodial alora 1mg.
I m happy to have found your post because it is almost like reading my own issues...
I have pain that feels very much like the same I had before the endo was removed and although my gyn. advises it shouldnt be new endo. that it might be hidden old endo.
as for the bowel problem I have severe back pain, major bloating as in 4 mos pregnant look! my groin and vagina hurts, and my bowels are a mess. I go from const. to diarreah(spelling)
and for the past month I have had pain in my right breast.
i went to see my fam. doc for this she gave me infection meds. says it was mastitis i did find a clear drainage 1 time but hasnt happened again. then I bring the pain issue to my gyn. who says that the meds I have to take for anxiety may cause the drip. but no info. for the pain?
he reffered me to a GI specialist to deal with the bowel issue and if nothing found there then he is going back in for a lap to check for endo.
the Gi doc. says I definitely have IBS and gave me zelnorm. My GERD is worse so he increased my nexium to 2 a day.
i had a ultra sound and CT scan on tuesday. havent heard from them yet although the guy who did the ultra sound said there was thickening of my gallbladder wall ??? what causes the thickening ?? and I have no stones seen by him however you know the techs are limited to tell you anything til you see your doc.
IM scheduled to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy done on Nov. 1st. who knows where we go from there !
I truly do feel for you , my family or friends dont understand anymore and they act as though they are sick of hearing my whiney problems. I think my mom thinks I like haveing tests or something so I dont even talk about my pain or anything (sick wise) to them any more...
Hey. Im washed up with all this but instead of ridding of it we just get more to deal with! If I could magically make the problem dissapear I would have done so 16 years ago and I would have my life back. I miss a lot with my children who need me so much more than I feel or am able to do.
I hope we each find some relief before the best years in life pass us by...

sorry for rambling on so long.. just had to vent as well I suppose.
PS. if you have any new information since this post I would like to hear what you have found out.
BEST WISHES !
TINA

I am sorry...

I am so sorry you are going through this too. I went to my Gyn on Tues. However, he doesn't know anything yet, because my two other jerki surgeon's didn't send my file. So, I went and got it. But, my gyn is going to get everything on me he has along w/ the labs from my GP and the tests from the surgeons and see if he can piece things together.

You asked what would cause a thickening of the GB wall. Chronic Cholesystis is what it is called. It's cause by and irritation of the GB. Which from what I have learned could be anything. I have had a Hida scan and I only have a 4.8% ejection fraction. In other words my GB only works at 4.8%, but apparently although it can be very very painful, it should be OK as long as there are no stones and it is functioning at least a little.

My Gyn said it is possible for endo to come back and most doc's will tell you that if you have had a hyst it can't, but it's not true.
It can come back.

If you have questions about digestive disorders I strongly stronlgy recomend the WebMD message board "Digestive disorders support group" I have found a lot of useful info and the people on there are very very nice. To get there go to Webmd.com and then click message boards and scrol down until you find the digestive support group. It is on the left hand side. My screen name on there is Bluruster2. If you look and my last few posts you can find everything you ever wanted to know about GB. Lots of people have GB problems.

I hope this helps. I will pray for you as well as all the others who are going through same pain. God, will take care of us. He is just preparing us for something better.

love
Julie
