pain meds and cold meds bad combo?

I have been living on my 600mg of Ibuprofen for the past 2 months. I have cramps every day, when the doc prescribed me a pain med to be taken once a day it was too expensive and I opted to stay with the IB. But I have been battling this cold for 2 days and been taking dayquil/nyquil gel tabs too. Does that seem over medicating? I can't not take either at this point. I tried to only take the cold med and the cramps lean in to say. And if I don't take the cold meds I get too stuffed up and cough till the cramps seem to kick.

Though don't feel overly drowsy from taking either, I need them to work the next 5 days with Aunt Flo's visit too to boot!!!

P.S.
I would call in and use few sick days to hopefully speed the recovery of this cold but need to use all I have for my week before disability kicks in!!! Plus don't won't to stay home and have an opportunity to start fights with the hubby!!! If I work through I won't have the chance to see him until next Wednesday.

I'm sorry you are not feeling well!

You should call your doctor or you could call the pharmacist. I take 4 different meds for my back and when I got a cold I didn't know what to do. I called the pharmacist who filled my prescriptions and he told me what I could safely take to help the cold symtoms while still taking my prescription drugs. It really helped.

I hope you are feeling better soon!

Ummm, the only thing I can think of at this point is: What kind of pain med is in Dayquil? Acetemenophin? That could be a problem together with the Motrin. You might want to ask your pharmacist about this, to make sure you aren't getting something that could mess up your liver. That can be a big problem with OTC pain meds and mixed meds.

Feel better soon, better days are coming!
