adhesions returning

Hey ladies,
Intersting thread. I just started physical therapy today and am hopeful that it will bring some results as some of you have shared. A recent CAT scan ruled out a hernia and GI problems, so they think it is either adhesions or a strained muslce that isn't healing. I felt great relief after starting PT today, just hopeful that there is something other than surgery that might help. She hooked me up so that electrode machine ( I think that's what it is) with a heating pad. Then she did an ultrasound and massaged the area. She gave me a few exercises to do, and I go back again on Thurs. For now, I am going to try 3x a week and hope to see some change. Please, keep sharing your stories. They provide great comfort, encouragement, and hope.

visceral manipulation is the type of massage therapy that i was referring to in my earlier post...not all physical therapists and massage therapists are trained in this type of massage so if youre interested youre probably going to have to contact several therapy centers before finding someone who is skilled in this technique.

Hi, for what it's worth, my acupuncturist
advocates stretching and massage for adhesions.
He said to stretch for at least 30 seconds per hold, and for a total
of 5 minutes. Really helped me. Hope you don't have to endure
more surgery....Leigh
