endometriosis??? Left side and left back pain~~

Okay gals another question for all of you! I had a complete hysterectomy done in 12-03. I have started having left side and lower back pain on the left side also. My doctor says he needs to go back in and do a laporscopy. He thinks it is endometriosis. Should I go ahead and let him do it again or could it be something else and I should get second opion? I don't know what to do anymore. It hurts all the time but not as bad as it does after intercourse. It does not hurt like right after intercourse it may take it several hours. Has anybody had this happen to them and if so give me some ideas??? Totally lost!!

Your doctor may be right. If you have had endometriosis in the past than you are more likely to have it again than if you never had it at all. There are several other things that can be causing that type of pain, but most of them would show up on an ultrasound. Has your doctor done one of these yet?? If he has and it showed nothing, than your probably looking at endo. However, if you feel uncomfortable with your doctor's diagnosis, there is no harm in getting a second opinion.
I hope all works out for you.
