Going CRAZY with nothing to do at home & stitches making me NUTS 7 days post op.

OK. I warned EVERYONE that I would not be able to do anything. My hubby is doing well with our 2 small kids, house is a diaster but kids are healthy and happy so what the heck and all the laundry is DONE.

Apparently I felt to good yesterday and spend to much time sitting up and walking around because I had HORRIBLE pain last night and all day today.

I had a TVH (think that's right! I kept my ovaries) and a LAP. LAR rectopexy to remove oh about 18" of my colon. o:

My entire pelvic floor was just shot from years and years of constipation that I thought was NORMAL.

I'm having issues with my stitches from the hyst. should they be on the outside as well as the inside? I looked with a mirror and showed hubby. I swear it looks like my doc sewed me up like Frankenstein. I'm scared of how I'm gonna heal. The itches are making me :eyes:.

Also, I had NO WARNING, so I'm asking stupid questions. I have my ovaries but the paper I was given says that it may take a few months for my cycle to resume.

So does mean that I could menopausal for a couple of months? Could it be the reason I've been so horrid this afternoon and evening? Not a good thing. I'm ready to go back to the hospital until I'm all better.

I can't relate to most of what you posted but I definetly related to your subject title, hahaha. At one week I thought I was going to lose my mind by doing nothing and sitting at home. Now that I am only 1 week away from returning to work... haha, I want to continue to stay home! I seemed to settle into the resting and recovery at week 2. The restlessness went away.

Oh well I'll just continue to relax and enjoy the week and half I have left

Sorry your stitches are bothering you. I had an SAH and am now calling my belly FrankenBelly

Hugs

hey becci!
we are true hystersisters (same day surg)!
I am bored to tears~began doing stuff yesterday...dishes...sitting next to kids while they throw out broken/not wanted toys. My dh completely cleaned out our playroom/enclosed patio yesterday! I was good didn't lift a thing...but felt great doing something for my family and house, I am doing dishes, making my bed, and picking up in morning. I force myself to sit from 2-5pm. Tonite is the last meal from my church, so I will begin cooking tommorrow!
my post op is fri, I am hoping to drive home!!!!!!!!
