Does adhesions...

Cause mentrual like cramps? I know a lot of you said it hurt your stomach and stuff. Mine feel like period cramps and at sometimes I have to take advil. How can the Drs. determine adhesions verses endo.? If they do a Lapro. how do they look under my intestines, because sometimes the cramps send me to the bathroom like before surgery. My Dr. must have been confident he got all the endo because I've been on a high dose of HRT {vivelle- dot} since surgery. I am just baffled as my Dr. is! Thanks for your input guys! Angel

Does adhesions...

Well...he really won't know without looking inside. To me, my adhesions felt like my endo. Some people are different. If the adhesions are stuck to your large intesting, then yeah, it can cause crampy feeling, but not your everyday kind of cramping---for me anyway.

There is no doubt, that for a lot of us, the hysto has totally changed everything. Some people do very well physically, unlike most of us here on the less traveled road......

If you notice anything different, go see your doc. I called mine this am, went in and he had to leave to go deliver, so I am going back at 2pm. Just 2 more hours of pain to endure.

Good luck~

Does adhesions...

Hi there,

i noticed your name says you had a radical hyst. Certainly, the more work done, the greater the risk for adhesions. I once read on the board that for each part taken ( a left ovary, a right ovary, a uterus, etc), that EACH operative change increeases the risk of adhesions indepedently, and when you add it all up - if you have had alot of work done, then adhesions are likely.

I had something very close to a rad hyst and did end out with lots of adhesions (diagnosed clinically and laproscopically). If you do think that these might be the cause of your problem, I sincerely recommend you learn as much about this condition as possible, BEFORE you decide on your course of action.

For me, adhesions did cause cramps - especially at first before everything got plastered down. Take care, Judy
